New Functionality
Resource Column Display
In the Resource Editor a resource has a new property Allocate Calendar Column which defines whether a resource will show up as a column when the Always Present Resource Column Display option is being used. This defaults to ticked, (i.e. yes) but for some resources which have mainly full day bookings such as holiday/leave which are viewed at the top of the column for that day, it may be better to un-tick this option so a column will only show up when someone books holiday/leave for part of a day.
Predefined Slots
In the Resource Editor it is now possible to enable pre-defined slots for each resource using the Enable pre-defined time slots property. Each resource may have different slots defined for each day of the week, or a day may use the same slots as a different day.
Predefined Slots Booking Rule
There is a new type of Booking Rule called the Predefined Slots Booking Rule. This is used to define how predefined slots will work, allowing the configurator to define whether bookings can go over more than one predefined slot, and whether users can book partial slots. Partial slots can exist if a user to whom the rule does not apply has booked part of a slot. Calpendo comes with a default version of this rule called Predefined slots must be adhered to.
Colour When No Templates Apply
The configurator can now define the system wide default background colour to be used when no Time Templates apply. This can be set in Global Preferences->Bookings View. Users can override the default in their User Settings.
Resource Column Display Global Preferences Setting
In the Global Preferences options under Bookings the Resource Column Display option now defines how Time Templates will be viewed as well as bookings. Also users now have an option in their User Settings to override the system default. For a full description on how these options will change the way resources and Time Templates are viewed on the calendar read the section on Exploring The Bookings Calendar.
Changes to Resource Usage Session Recorder
There is a new property that can be set in the Resource Editor called Resource User Selectable. This lets the configurator choose whether the currently logged-in user should be assumed to be the resource user in the Resource Usage Session Recorder, or whether Calpendo should ask who the resource user is.
